Damien Kieran

Damien Kieran served as BeReal's General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, where he oversees legal, trust & safety, customer support, and government affairs in support of BeReal's global user base. Prior to joining BeReal, he was a Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Twitter (aka X) where he was also the company's first Chief Privacy Officer and Global Data Protection Officer. He was responsible for all matters surrounding the collection, use, storage and sharing of data collected by Twitter. At Twitter he also had prior roles as Global Litigation Counsel and was responsible for managing all non-U.S. litigation and regulatory matters for the company. He has testified before the U.S. Senate on Consumer Data Privacy and the European Commission on consumer protection. Before joining Twitter, Damien worked at the New York offices of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, LLP, and Weil, Gotshal, & Manges LLP. His practice focused on complex matters in the high-tech space. Prior to moving to the United States, Damien worked at Google, and a leading Irish law firm in Dublin.
