Abeer Khedr

Abeer Khedr is the Group Head of Cyber Security at the National Bank of Egypt and Chair of the Cyber Security Committee at the Federation of Egyptian Banks, with over 20 years of experience in technology and information security. She has established the bank’s cybersecurity strategy, implemented an ISO 27001:2013 certified information security management system, and led the bank’s successful transition to ISO 27001:2022 in 2023—the first in Egypt and Africa to do so. She also pioneered an ISO 27701:2019 certified privacy information management system, marking the bank as a regional leader. Previously, Abeer led security consulting and IT audit services at Deloitte Egypt. Her accolades include ranking first in IFSEC’s global security influencer awards (2020) and recognition among Egypt’s Top 50 influential women (2019). She has been awarded regional and local CISO of the Year multiple times. Abeer holds a master’s in business information technology from Middlesex University and a bachelor’s in computer science from the American University in Cairo, along with certifications including C|CISO, DPO, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CISA, and ISO 27001 lead auditor.
