Jim O’Gorman

Jim O’Gorman serves as the Chief Content and Strategy Officer at OffSec, a role he has held for more than 15 years. With a background spanning over 25 years in the information security sector, Jim has extensive experience. He has served as the lead instructor for PEN200 in more than 100 classes. While he has worked in various capacities within the information security field, teaching has always been his passion. 

He started teaching for OffSec in 2009 as an instructor for the Penetration Testing with Kali (PWK) course - a role he still enjoys. He went on to co-author Metasploit: The Penetration Tester's Guide and Kali Linux: Revealed, and has developed and curated a number of OffSec courses. As the Chief Content and Strategy Officer, he currently oversees the open source Kali Linux development project and participates with OffSec’s Penetration Testing Team.

Jim finds fulfilment in spending time with students, guiding them in their career paths, and believes that helping them progress is incredibly meaningful.
