Dr. Giannis Tziakouris

Dr. Giannis Tziakouris is a cybersecurity professional with over 15 years of experience. He is currently working as a Senior Incident Responder at Cisco Talos where he leads emergency response and security services globally. 
 
Prior to his current role, Giannis served as the Lead Digital Crime Analyst at INTERPOL, where he worked as part of various operations and investigations pertaining to cryptocurrencies and Darknet. His work in this area has been recognized and published in research conferences like IEEE Security & Privacy and the IEICE transactions. Giannis also delivered policing solutions, including forensic suites and specialized training on investigating cryptocurrency and Darknet-related illicit activities, to 195 member countries.

During his PhD research, Giannis made significant contributions to the field of self-adaptive security in the Cloud. His findings were published and presented in various academic venues. Alongside his research, Giannis worked as a Senior Teaching Associate at the University of Birmingham, UK.
