Brett Matthes

Brett has served as Coupang’s Chief Information Security Officer since December 2021, after leading Coupang’s Red Team since August 2020.  Prior to joining Coupang, he served as an Assistant Director General at the Australian Department of Defence and developed capabilities to support intelligence, offensive cyber and cybersecurity mandates.

Brett has over 25 years’ experience in Cybersecurity and Information Systems, having also run his own software development company, and provided advice to many companies and all levels of government. He has presented in many international forums, most recently at an OSCE Inter-regional conference on the Impact of Emerging Technologies on International Security and Democracy.
