Atul Kumar, in his capacity as the Lead for Government Initiatives and Global Trade at DSCI, spearheads various endeavours in cybersecurity. His primary focus areas encompass Government Affairs, International Engagement, Global Trade Development, and Cyber Cooperation.

Atul has anchored pivotal government initiatives of national significance in cybersecurity. He has been an active contributor to numerous national committees and international forums dedicated to strengthening the cybersecurity landscape including technological advancements, policy frameworks, standards, innovation, and government funding. He also served as a jury member for national awards for cyber and technology.

Atul is a proponent of global collaboration and cooperation in the realm of cybersecurity. He has orchestrated and hosted several international delegations, fostering valuable international collaborations and partnerships. Additionally, his role encompasses playing a pivotal part in advancing initiatives that facilitate the global expansion of Indian industry.

Beyond his current responsibilities, Atul is deeply committed to promoting cybersecurity entrepreneurship and innovation in the country. His endeavours are focused on creating a conducive startup ecosystem in India, which is essential for the growth and sustainability of cybersecurity companies.

Atul was part of the editorial team of 'Securing our Cyber Frontiers’, a seminal report that laid the foundation for public-private partnership structures in Indian cybersecurity.

Furthermore, he co-authored the DSCI Assessment Frameworks for Security (DAF-S) and Privacy (DAF-P), making substantial contributions to industry standards.
Atul has an enduring association of over 12 years with DSCI.  He holds a postgraduate degree in management, specializing in Information Technology, from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A) and an engineering degree in computer science.
