In this presentation, we explore the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, focusing on two key aspects. We firstly examine the challenges posed by the use of AI in the hands of cybercriminals. We investigate how criminals exploit AI to streamline their operations, automate attacks, and exploit vulnerabilities. Through real-life examples, such as advanced phishing and deepfakes, we highlight the tangible consequences in today's world. Furthermore, we offer our predictions on future trends and implications resulting from the criminal use of AI, drawing insights from open-source threat intelligence, empirical data, and Cisco Talos telemetry.
Next, we shed light on the proactive use of AI by cybersecurity defenders. We reveal how AI enables effective threat detection, automates the analysis of large datasets, enhances the identification of criminal activities, and empowers predictive analytics for future threats.
